At the advice of legal counsel, the Board of Directors of the Authority approved an amendment to its articles of incorporation to allow for the corporation name to be changed to Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority Properties, Inc. Additionally, the new entity established by the Macon-Bibb County resolution as discussed above, was created as the Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority. Effective July 1, 2016, all operations were transferred to the Authority from the non-profit corporation. Because of the nature and significance of its relationship with the Authority, Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority Properties (the non-profit corporation) is considered a component unit of the Authority, and is discretely presented in these financial statements.
