The Leo Marchutz School has been taking students to Venice for a week in April for 40 years and this program allows students to give themselves over to painting and drawing for seven straight days in the famed canals of Venice, Italy. 4306 4225 Imagination & Form in Great Works of Art: A Museum Study Seminar in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (September/October 2023): A wonderful group of 7 participants gathered in Philadelphia from Friday, September 29 through Sunday, October 1, 2023 for a long-weekend museum study seminar: Imagination & Form in Great Works of Art, which drew upon art historian Lionello Venturis book, Painting and Painters - How to Look at a Picture, From Giotto to Chagall. The group went on a deep dive into the imaginations of some of the great artists represented in the museums of Philadelphia, including the Barnes Foundation and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. In our accounting, each program or workshop has its own accounting of all expenditures associated with that program. If that program takes place in France, all expenditures will be allocated to France. The people we pay in France (independent contractors) are tracked as part of our accounting of salaries and wages. We also pay to maintain an art studio in France, so the rental expense is part of our expenditures in France. As is travel to/from France for the employee and independent contractors who travel to France as part of our programs. We also run each year a one-week program in Venice, Italy and we track expenses the same way, though we maintain no independent contractors in Venice -- they all travel from France or the U.S. for that one week. Part VI, Line 19 We have so far not made our documents available publicly on our website but have shared and will share them with those who inquire about them with us. I filed Form 8868 in December 2024 to request a 6-month extension for our tax return for Fiscal Year starting August 1, 2023 and ending July 31, 2024. We are a very small operation, with just myself (Rose Genochio, Executive Director) in charge of all administrative tasks in the U.S. I needed additional time to get our accounting in order and file the 990, as it is our first year needing to file the 990 and not the 990-EZ.
