Our signature focus this past year was rooted in our partnership with Family Nurturing Center. Family Nurturing Center strives to end the cycle of child abuse by promoting individual well-being and healthy family relationships. In addition, our members supported various past programs through hundreds of volunteer hours to start-up and established non-profit organizations 80832 63671 Developing the potential of women - The JLC develops members as community leaders, through the provision of training, hands on instruction and experience in addition to training its own membership, the JLC opens many of its training and development opportunities to the community through public forums and collaboration. 34173 Columbia Center - The Columbia Center serves as the headquarters of the Junior League of Cincinnati, enabling meetings, planning, and execution of its training and development, advocacy and community impact efforts including the incubation of its past and current signature projects. Grants are recorded in the accounting system within specified accounts and reported to the Board. Membership votes on programs that recieve program grants, this includess supporting Family Nurturing Center for a period of 3-5 years and provide $75,000 in seed funding. In addition to this funding, the JLC will provide the support and expertise of the 800+ volunteer members to help support and accelerate Family Nurturing Center in its mission and endeavors. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 4 The organization had a membership vote on a new mission. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 Membership is open to the female public to those who demonstrate commitment to volunteerism, community service, bettering our community and developing personal potential to affect community change. Members act as the volunteers who run the Junior League of Cincinnati's various programs. The organization has three classes of members, active members, sustainer members and new members. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a The members are entitled to vote for a committee that slates the governing officials. The slate is voted on by the general membership for approval. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b The board annually approves the budget, changes to the budget and various projects and fundraisers. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The Form 990 was prepared by the outside accountants and reviewed by the Finance VP and Treasurer. The form was then provided to the full Board of Directors for review and any questions were addressed. The Form 990 is also made available to the membership upon request. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c Board members and others must annually sign a statement acknowledging that they are in compliance with the policy. If a violation of the conflict of interest policy were to occur, the member would be asked to resign from the organization. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19 The organization makes its financial statements available upon request. In addition, the financial statements are available on the website. The governing documents and the conflict of interest policy are not made available to the public.
