The CWAC was strategically built with a mission dedicated to offering assistance to low-income families, such as after school support, as well as summer feeding program for youths; promoting the development of parenting skills; promoting Welfare Reform Programs-such as for TANF clients that will increase family stability; implementing workshop programs that will help women entrepreneurs and others start or enhance their business; providing food pantry services to families in need; and improving family access to other resources such as single family housing's packager under the USDA-RD program. In addition, once covid arrived, certain safety and sanitation duties increased especially for facility rental and food pantry services. However, advisory board activity continued to become also non functional. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8a Since the organization has decreased in several services, and has not obtained grants lately, the governing body has been non functional. Moreover, during the year 2023 the organization did not have a staff other than the CEO and approximately 10 parttime volunteers. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8b Each committee of the governing body met to discuss services such as food pantry, facility rental, maintenance, and single family housing, especially as they also related to enhancing covid procedures. Although the meetings were not documented, correspondences received from Mississippi Food Network for food pantry services, Facility Rental Agreements from Rentals, and Single Family Housing information received from USDA-RD were shared. In addition, management experienced family sickness that consequently caused some time off work.
