When we finally discovered what he had done, he refused to return the money, so we recorded the funds as a receivable. When he realized that he faced legal problems with the transfers, he offered a noncash asset as payment. The 24,379 figure represents money taken plus legal expense involved in transferring the noncash asset to Adventist Today. The return was filed timely on November 15 at 9:20 pm Pacific Time from Washington state. The program showed the date as November 16, apparently because it is using Eastern Time.
