More than 500 volunteer doctors, dentists, and other healthcare professionals served the uninsured (continues on Sch O) and underinsured of Palm Beach County in fiscal year 2023/2024. Though the number of volunteers continues to be lower than pre-pandemic levels, the needs of the community continue being met at a high level through the efforts of our volunteers, our dedicated and flexible staff, and through close partnerships with other community social service agencies and state and local government entities. 0 0 6137395 In fiscal year 2023/2024, Caridad Center provided medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, social services, and health education services to more than 7,800 uninsured individuals and 73,900 patient visits across all services to those living in Palm Beach County. Volunteer physicians and specialists provided primary care, as well as specialty services including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ear, Nose & Throat, Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Minor Surgery, Pediatrics, Mental & Behavioral Health, and Women's Health. The Dental Clinic provided 10,266 procedures for children and adults, including basic services and specialty care, such as Endodontics and Periodontics. 668509 51400 Caridad Center Social Services and Behavioral Health Department delivered 19,127 services to over 4,007 people, including mental and behavioral health individual, group, and family counseling, scholarships, special events, social services, and case management assistance using social determinants of health (e.g., emergency housing, electricity, and food), including referrals to other community resources. These services address the broader factors contributing to health and socio-economic barriers. The Social Services and Behavioral Health Department's behavioral and mental health services have continued to grow, providing critical counseling, therapy, and psychiatric health services to patients. Caridad's Youth Magnolias Socio-educational Group has been a beacon of growth, empowerment, and community for young women. In fiscal year 2023/2024, we had two participants graduate from our Youth Magnolias Socio-Educational Group. 567545 The Health Education Department continued to grow, providing 18,413 health education classes to patients and families. Taught by Caridad's Community Health Workers trained at Caridad, these classes helped patients learn about healthy lifestyles, diet, exercise, and managing their health conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension.
