However during the final weeks of the 2024 tax year we received notification of a large one-time donation submitted through our online giving portal. Due to donor unavailability and internal due diligence we were unable to immediately verify and clear the donation. As a result we were uncertain whether the contribution would be confirmed in time to determine our filing obligations accurately. Unfortunately this delayed our awareness that we had exceeded the $50,000 threshold which moved us from Form 990-N to Form 990-EZ. This delay was unintentional and we took immediate steps to file as soon as the issue was resolved. We have taken steps to ensure that such delays do not occur again including updating our financial procedures to flag unverified year-end transactions earlier and coordinating timely reviews of large contributions.
