Speakers included representatives from the U.S. Meat Export Federation, local whisky distillers who work with all Colorado farms for their ingredients, and a small local Japanese distiller who does the same in Japan. The audience of international business and education leaders learned about this very important connection between our two communities and also had networking opportunities with both Japanese and Colorado corporate representatives. 29784 0 30957 The JASC Annual Charity Golf Tournament is an important networking event that allows members of the local international business community to come together for a relaxed day of golf followed by a sushi dinner. Employees of both Japanese companies located in Colorado and Colorado companies doing business in Japan have the chance to meet and learn from one another. This fun event was held in June at Plum Creek Golf Club. We were happy to collaborate with the Japanese Business Association of the Rockies. We welcomed more than 100 golfers and 10 volunteers. 5313 0 38200 Passport to Japan is a top program of Japan America Society of Colorado, focusing on basic conversational Japanese language, cultural lessons, and general information about travel throughout Japan. In 2024, we offered Passport to Japan in Level 1 and Level 2. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The JASC Conflict of Interest Policy is presented at the start of each calendar to year to the board with instructions to notify the officers or executive director if any conflicts exist or arise. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 JASC consults the Colorado Nonprofit Association salary guide for compensation comparison as well as Guidestar and the City and County of Denver annual cost of living amounts. Salaries are discussed within the Executive Committee to ensure agreement before notifying the Executive Director. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 All policies and governing documents are noted on our website as "available upon request". Anyone is welcome to contact the JASC office to review these documents. Form 990, Part XI, Line 9 This amount reflects a grant that was received in 2023 and was listed as deferred revenue at that time for 2024. Grant expenses were all incurred in 2024. This amount also reflects check and deposit clearing differences over the year end. We had back-to-back large events during the winter and spring of 2025 (CO-Japan Aerospace Connections, Japan Cup, Japanese Kite Festival, CO-Japan Charity Golf Tournament) and as a result the request for extension was filed late. This is the first time that this organization has missed a deadline. As soon as the missed deadline was discovered, we immediately took steps to file the Form 990. Consequently, the return has been filed within 8 days of the missed deadline.
