<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>The Take One Youth Film Mentorship Program provides educational opportunities, workforce development, and mentorship for Philadelphia youth, particularly those from underrepresented communities. The program focuses on film and media training, youth violence prevention, and mental health awareness. Participants receive hands-on instruction in filmmaking, storytelling, production, and teamwork while gaining access to industry mentors and positive creative outlets. In 2024, the program served approximately 48 youth, equipping them with both creative and life skills while reducing risk factors associated with youth violence. Funding for the program included a $25,000 ReCAST Grant (Resiliency in Communities After Stress and Trauma, led by the City of Philadelphia DBHIDS in collaboration with Temple University), a $15,000 Lenfest/Temple University grant, and a $12,000 installment from the Sach Grant (University of Pennsylvania). <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>The Youth Civic News (YCN) Mentorship Program, powered by the Philadelphia Film Factory (Philm Factory) with instructors from We Talk Weekly, is an annual educational mentorship program that uses television production, news, media, and journalism to promote civic engagement and literacy among youth ages 1524. Participants learn how to produce and operate their own broadcasted radio and news shows while gaining skills in writing, hosting, camera operation, and broadcasting. In 2024, the program served approximately 50 youth, providing hands-on experience and mentorship that empowers participants to amplify their voices and engage their communities. This program was partially supported by a $20,000 grant awarded in fall 2024, of which $15,000 was received and used in 2024, and the remaining $5,000 installment will support the program in 2025. Youth Civic News is part of Every Voice, Every Vote, a collaborative project managed by The Lenfest Institute for Journalism, with lead support from the William Penn Foundation and additional funding from Comcast NBCUniversal, The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and other partners.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<ExplanationTxt>22. Cash, savings, and investments.During the year, The Philadelphia Film Factory received $37,000 for the Take One Youth Film Mentorship Program and $15,000 of a $20,000 total award for the Youth Civic News (YCN) Mentorship Program. All grants were restricted and required to be fully spent on program activities by set dates in 2024. Because these funds were expended as required, year-end cash and net assets appear lower but accurately reflect compliance with grant terms. 24. Other assets: Camera and film production equipment owned by The Philadelphia Film Factory with an estimated total value of $25,000. This equipment is used exclusively for educational and community filmmaking programs, including the Take One Youth Film Mentorship Program, the Youth Civic News (YCN) Mentorship Program, and community filmmaking classes.</ExplanationTxt>
