Members include GIS/LIS users in local, state, federal, and tribal government agencies; business and industry; educational institutions and nonprofits; and students. Members do not pay membership dues. Membership is open to anyone who requests to be on the mailing list. Pt VI, Line 7a Board member nominations typically start at the organizations annual conference held in October. Board members are nominated by their peers and an online vote is held shortly after the October conference. Votes are tallied and members are notified via the Consortium website, e-mail blasts, and the organization newsletter. Pt VI, Line 11b The 990 is sent to all Board members for review before it is filed. They must acknowledge they have received it and had a chance to review. Pt VI, Line 12c Conflicts of interest are discussed annually at Board meetings. Board members, staff, and volunteers are encouraged to disclose conflicts when they arise. The Board members review and sign the Conflict of Interest policy annually to confirm no such conflict exists. Pt VI, Line 15a Management contract is reviewed by the Board annually.
