Line 28) We held an AgVenture event where attendees visited seven commodity stations which included bees, citrus, vegetables, cattle, soils and sugarcane. The attendees were taught about the diversity and importance of agriculture in Collier County. Over 3,150 4th grade students, parents, and educators attended the event. Line 29) Throughtout the year several members attend various meetings held which impact local agriculture. We try to keep our local and state legislatures abreast of the issues impacting agriculture: labor shortages, H2A housing, food safety protocols, over regulations by local governments and development pressures taking farmlands out of production. We advocate on behalf of our local farmers and ranchers so we can work towards the betterment of those engage in agriculture.
