The financial resources in this fund are intended to generate annual returns sufficient to fund scholarships over future years on a permanent basis. Annual scholarship award levels will be amended, if needed, to ensure long-term scholarship opportunities. The beginning balance for the year ended June 30, 2025 has been adjusted by $135,366 to reflect a reclassification between the Bacon Scholarship Endowment Fund and the Foundation's General Fund. Most of the scholarship funds require that the payments be made directly to the eligible educational institution. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b Each year, the Foundation contracts with an external accounting firm to assist in the preparation of IRS Form 990. Once prepared, the Foundation's board of directors reviews a complete, unredacted copy of the return. Any necessary changes are communicated back to the external accounting firm so that the return can be updated prior to filing. This process has not changed since the previous return filing.
