TXRX continued its collaboration with the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD), delivering both on-site and facility-based training at the Youth Village, with instruction in carpentry, CAD, 3D printing, CNC laser cutting, welding, and electronics. TXRX Labs also grew its ExxonMobil Teen Education & Technology Centers (TETC) programming, offering 4-week STEM "Sprint" modules on topics such as carbon capture, water purification, and biomanufacturing. These modules are aligned to TEKS standards and integrate hands-on learning, software-based modeling, and exposure to industry guest speakers. In addition to developing the curriculum, TXRX Labs fabricates prototypes and trains TETC instructors to deliver the modules with fidelity and industry relevance. In 2024, TXRX Labs also launched the pilot year of the CACT.US Design Center, funded by the Cactus Jack Foundation. The Design Center established the Sneaker Lab design training program and a summer internship, hosted remote Sneaker Lab activations for middle school, high school, and college students in New Jersey City, New Jersey in October 2024, and showcased its work at ComplexCon in November 2024. Through these initiatives, TXRX expanded access to human-centered design education and connected students to cultural and industry platforms. Job Training In 2024, TXRX Labs advanced its workforce development pipeline through the Modern Manufacturing Program, a short-term, intensive assessment and training model designed to prepare adults for entry-level roles in advanced manufacturing. Trainees received practical instruction in additive manufacturing and 3D printing, CAD and CNC machining, quality inspection, electronics assembly to IPC standards, and welding, including specialized subarc training. Building on this foundation, TXRX Labs began focusing on electro-mechanical manufacturing industries, expanding its IPC certification-aligned training and growing a network of employer partners in the electronics product manufacturing sector. TXRX became an official SMTA-Houston partner, hosted electronics industry events and job fairs at its facility, and developed a robust work-based learning internship program for electronics students at TXRX Labs. These efforts strengthened TXRX's ability to connect skilled trainees directly with regional employers and to support the growth of Houston's electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
