Organized and held two competitions. The first annual Synchronized skating competition November 2023 for 10 teams of 15-20 skaters; the 12th annual Theatre on Ice and singles competition for over 400 skaters during the period ending April 30, 2024. Support skaters through grants as they advance in the US Figure Skating qualifiying structure and as they transition to a 2-year or 4-year higher education institution. This scholarship promotes continued ability to engage in figure skating during the transition from high school to college. 41373 42514 Membership program revenue and associated expenses. Each candidate received between $450 - $550 for a total of $2,550. 5 2550 0 Competitor Award- Qualifying Advancement. Five recipients were awarded a grant of $750 each for a total of $3,750. These recipients advanced to Sectionals. 5 3750 0 Schedule I, Part I, Line 2 Competitor Grants: The organization provides assistance to members who advance to qualifying levels of figure skating. Assistance is provided to off-set expenses incurred for travel, such as transportation and lodging. Annually, at the start of the season (before any individual competes to qualify), the Board votes during the open monthly meeting to set the compensation amounts directed for each type of qualifying level (Sectionals, Nationals, International). Collegiate Grants: The organization provides annual awards to graduating high school seniors who are enrolling at 2- or 4-year college or university. The qualifications to apply as well as the rubric for award honorees is posted on the organization web site throughout the year as well as detailed in a weekly email starting four months before applications are due. Applicants are given four months to complete the application. A separate committee whose composition is described in detail in the organization's policy papers is selected to review applications against the rubric to determine award amounts. Their proposal is presented to the Board for vote. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 The organization is membership based with approximately 380 members who pay annual dues. Half of the dues payment is submitted to US Figure Skating (USFS) in Colorado Springs, CO for each member's USFS membership and ability to test to advance in figure skating and compete at USFS-sanctioned competitions. The other half of organizational dues provides benefits to members, such as community events, competitions, other skating opportunities, and educational information. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a Annually, our organization elects 1/3 of the Board to serve a consecutive 3-year term. The entire adult (18 years and older) membership is provided a slate of nominees 45 days in advance of voting. During the annual meeting in which 10% of adult membership is required to attend, voting on the slate occurs. This is done hybrid both in person and over Zoom to elect the new 1/3 Board members to start their 3-year term.
