Volunteers retrieve the calls and contact the person and qualify that they are in our service area. If not we refer them to other SVDP Confererences or local agencies. If in our service area, we send them a packet to be completed and returned along with an authorization to release information for contacting landlords, etc. Once received we may conduct follow up review of paystubs, tax returns, leases, and any pertinent information for us to discuss, discern and determine level of assistance. Once approved, checks are then sent directly to the various service providers. In some cases we may approve the individual or family for a monthly food allotment. OUr Conference has two programs to meet that requirement: 1) a monthly allotment to poorer conferences of which there are seven. 2) an annual grant to conferences within the Trenton Diocese who have specific programs to help the needy. From these documents the 990 is prepared and filed by the Treasurer. The 990 tax return is available for review by each Board Member. Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12c The Conflict of Interest Policy is required to be reviewed and signed by every Board Member. Since all other persons involved in the Conference are volunteers, there is not a requirement for them to sign a Conflict of Interest Policy. Governing documents etc available to public Part VI line 19 Board Members receive a monthly financial report along with bank balances each month. The report compares to budget and prior year. The 990 is made availabe to all Board Members upon request. Each Board Member is required to complete and/or update the Conflict of Interest Policy annually.
