<Desc>Aspiritech: Aspiritech is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit business that provides website software testing, quality assurance, data analysis, website design and development, cybersecurity and other information technology-related services to organizations and businesses in the competitive marketplace. As this work requires attention to detail and focus, Aspiritech was founded upon the premise that autistic adults are specifically suited for this kind of work. Accordingly, more than 90% of its current 100 employees, are on the autism spectrum. Such workers exhibit a significant aptitude for working alone, maintaining full concentration, and paying particular attention to detail. To sustain its growth and ability to offer suitable career employment to as many qualified autistic adults as possible, HAAPE is collaborating with Aspiritech to provide a comprehensive 6-week virtual academy that provides an online training program to introduce software testing and quality assurance to prospective candidates. Each training session is usually oversubscribed, with approximately 10 applicants for each available position. Upon completion of the program, about 90% of the graduates find employment with either Aspiritech or outside companies. Aspiritech also hopes to expand its virtual training sessions to include cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and accessibility testing and compliance. HAAPE provided seed funding ($25,000) for development of the 10-week Cybersecurity Academy for Autistic people. This development is completed, and a pilot cohort is underway.</Desc>

<Desc>Computerized Numeric Control (CNC): The "Uniquely Abled Project" (UAP) has created a program that focuses on training men and women with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to become CNC machine operators. CNC operators are currently in great demand over a broad range of industries, especially in manufacturing. Together with the UAP, HAAPE is working with several colleges and other teaching institutions to establish the HAAPE-Uniquely Abled Academy to train qualified ASD adults to operate this equipment. HAAPE has previously financed three CNC licenses and last year added a fourth at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. To date, nearly 100% of the graduates who have taken the CNC training course have received career employment opportunities from qualified, autism-friendly companies. The expansion of this program has hit some roadblocks due to difficulties in finding qualified instructors and establishing the appropriate training infrastructure. Accordingly, the opportunity for adding future licenses has necessarily been slowed.</Desc>

<Desc>Supply Chain and Logistics Certification: Supply chain management has gained popularity because of the significant disruptions caused by the Covid pandemic that impacted retail and wholesale outlets and the economy throughout the country. Similarly, the current economic tariff controversy has also begun to affect supply chains, causing further disruptions. Consequently, the importance of understanding and executing economic efficiencies to maintain the U.S. economy cannot be overlooked. Our program offered by Broward College educates and provides specialized training to adults with autism, who then can find career positions from manufacturing companies concerned with this particular aspect of the production of goods and services. The training consists of 8 separate modules that teach various content to students who can learn at their own pace and at a remote location. Upon completion of each subject, the student takes a test that must be passed in order to move on to the next module. When all eight courses are successfully concluded, the student receives a formal certification for completing the entire curriculum. In FY 2024, we provided scholarships for 23 students covering 40 courses. Since we started this program in 2021, we have provided scholarships for 29 individuals who have taken a total of 65 separate courses.</Desc>

<Desc>In addition to the programs described above, HAAPE offers other options that are designed to train and employ autistic adults and educate the public, local businesses, religious organizations, and government officials about the benefits of hiring and understanding adults diagnosed with autism. These efforts stress the unique strengths exhibited by our candidates and the societal cost savings associated with taking advantage of this particular segment of the available workforce. We certainly have not exhausted all readily available opportunities for hiring autistic adults, and we hope to expand these efforts by finding other companies, like Aspiritech and the Uniquely Abled Project, whereby our limited resources can be used to further our mission. To meet these goals, we have established several ecosystems around the country that connect operating partners, employers, and qualified job-seeking autistic adults. Other programs include entrepreneurial training for those wishing to work for themselves, recognizing autistic-friendly towns and cities, and engaging with prospective employers and religious organizations to make them autistic friendly. We cannot understate the importance of our workplace development program. If our graduates cannot be contented living their everyday lives, and working in a comfortable environment, then none of our programs could ever be successful.</Desc>

<PurposeOfGrantTxt>In FY 2024, HAAPE paid Aspiritech for two separate cohorts that trained autistic adults in quality assurance. There were 16 graduates, of which 13 have accepted career positions. In addition, HAAPE paid to establish and maintain the Aspiritech Academy database as part of the "HAAPE Hub." This revolutionary digital platform is a joint effort with Aspiritech and will formulate and maintain a specific database designed to connect operating partners, employers, and jobseekers across the autism employment ecosystem. Additional payments to Aspiritech will cover two more training cohorts to take place in FY 2025, covering certain aspects of cybersecurity. We expect that at least 90% of those who successfully complete the courses will obtain appropriate and sustainable career opportunities. Finally, HAAPE provided seed funding ($25,000) for development of the 10-week Cybersecurity Academy for Autistic people. This development is completed, and a pilot cohort is underway.</PurposeOfGrantTxt>

<PurposeOfGrantTxt>The $10,000 payment covers the license fee from the Uniquely Abled Project to teach a 16-week in-person training program at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. This is the fourth license that HAAPE has funded such that Drexel joins Broward College, Palm Beach State College and AMSkills, Inc., where autistic adults can learn how to become a Computer Network Control (CNC) Operator. Once a student successfully completes the course, follow up includes finding full-time career employment for all graduates of the program. For the training of CNC operators, our investment activity actually slowed somewhat because of the difficulty in coordinating an appropriate and sustained teaching infrastructure with qualified instructors, as the process is necessarily slow. Hopefully there will be more opportunities to expand this program in the near future.</PurposeOfGrantTxt>

<PurposeOfGrantTxt>HAAPE's strategic partner, Broward College, has developed a self-teaching computer program that progressively explains various aspects of supply chain management and logistics. The overall course consists of 8 separate modules that focus on different subjects falling under the supply chain umbrella. Students can take each course at their own pace and at a remote location. Students must pass a test which is given at the end of each section. Those who pass any of the 8 courses receive their official certification and can then qualify for career opportunities. Since supply chains in the United States have been seriously disrupted by the Covid pandemic in 2020-21 and by the tariff negotiations in 2025, manufacturing and service-related companies are very interested in hiring these graduates. In FY 2024, HAAPE provided scholarships for 23 students covering 40 separate certifications.</PurposeOfGrantTxt>
