Rascals serves up to 10 children a day, ages 1-3. Their curriculum focuses on a loving, nurturing and positive introduction to the school experience. Rainbow Preschool serves 16 kids a day, ages 2 years and 9 months to 5. Rainbow's curriculum focuses on school readiness, social emotional growth, independence and learning through experiential play. Rockies serves up to 20 kids a day, ages 5-8. Rockies offers an after school program and summer camp. The curriculum for Rockies focuses on new and exciting experiences, enrichments programs, arts and crafts, friendship skills and field trips. Rainbow, Rockies and Rascals received scholarship funding from Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation, Strong Start and Just for Kids as well as funding for enrichment programs through CCAASE. In the past year, all RRR staff completed their professional development coursework. The Rainbow Lead Teacher completed ECE 101 and 103 and all Rainbow staff attended the Rocky Mountain ECE Conference in Denver this past March.Rainbow Preschool assessed and documented all of their children last year through the Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment Program through Colorado Shines. Two teachers at Rainbow Preschool have reached high fidelity through being assessed with the TPOT tool in rating their ability to use the Pyramid Model in the classroom. Rainbow and Rockies have children in their programs that use CCCAP funds and we partner with San Miguel Social Services to coordinate the funds for this. In addition., Rainbow Preschool participates in the UPK program for their four year olds to provide 15 hours of free preschool each week! Rainbow Preschool is proud to announce that we went through the Colorado Shines rating process in the Spring of 2023 and received a Level 5 rating, the highest level you can achieve! Our organization gave over $20,000 in scholarship funds to 17 families in all three of our programs from September 2023-September 2024. The Rainbow Preschool Organization gave two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from THS who were alumni of Rainbow Preschool. Scholarship materials and registrations for Rockies and Rainbow have been translated into Spanish with the help of Tri- County Health. All three programs now use Google Translate and translators from Tri-County Health to communicate with Spanish speaking parents. Rainbow, Rockies and Rascals raised over $40,000 at our silent/live auction fundraiser this past Spring and we have added another Fall fundraiser, which is a Halloween themed Bingo Party in late October!Rainbow, Rockies and Rascals is dedicated to being an inclusive and diverse organization. All programs outreach to the local hispanic community by partnering with Tri-County Health for translation services when needed as well as San Miguel Social Services. All programs have translated their registration paperwork andutilize google translate for all email communication. RRR is proud to have 4% of our students in our programs from the Latino community.All three of Rainbow's programs offer the Telluride community high-quality early childhood education and recreation, which focuses on the social-emotional and educational needs of each child. Our schools offer continuous care for ages 1 year to 8 years of age and we guarantee a spot for every child that begins at Rascals throughout all of our programs. We have a caring and loving staff, that has proven their dedication through continuing education and a commitment to many years of service. The educational impacts of our programs are apparent through each child's personal growth in the programs, as well as their performance in Kindergarten. Rainbow Preschool uses the TS Gold Teaching Strategies observation and assessment tool to ensure that each child's developmental milestones are being met and if not, that the proper interventions take place. All three programs utilized the talent of various community members to provide an exceptional enrichment program to include classes from yoga to climbing to gymnastics and much more. Our economic impact is felt by sustaining the working population of the Telluride community, by providing care for their children. Specifically, our scholarship program benefits those who might not be able to otherwise afford access to consistent, quality, early childhood education.
