As a newly formed organization launched in January 2024 the Malibu Education Foundation focused on establishing operations building public awareness and preparing for fundraising efforts - all on a volunteer-only basis at the outset. The official public launch of the organization which marked the beginning of active awareness-building and fundraising activities took place in September 2024. As soon as the filing oversight was recognized MEF took prompt action to complete and submit its Form 990 accurately and in good faith. The organization respectfully requests consideration for reasonable cause and abatement of any related penalties.
