Our organization is in the collecting and building phase of it's development. We are acquiring passenger train cars for display (diners, coaches, sleepers). In 2021 we acquired and moved a large train depot to our museum site. The main focus and achievement this year was to began the fundraising effort for renovating the building with new electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and restoring it to being a functional building. We will continue the fundraising effort this year. We also were able to acquire a rare Burlington railroad "Zephyr" train Railway Post Office car for future display. We also acquired a sleeper for our Great Northern Railway "Empire Builder" train set and two Milwaukee Road "Hiawatha" train coaches. I had always understood that the disqualified persons were officers or board of director members. I happened to look at the definition of disqualified persons and realized that I had not understood that large donors also should be included in this. After clarification with our accountant I looked back and collected the large donor information which resulted in revising previous years totals. This brings our reporting into compliance with the disqualified persons definition. I would like to point out that the definition is not clear or easily understood by a layman. Although donated, there was considerable expense for preparing the train car mechanically to ship and then shipping it to the museum by rail. That is the gap that these two directors filled so that the museum could add this rare car to its collection. I had knee surgery on April 9th, which disrupted my ability to prepare the financial statements and fill out the return by the due date. In reading through the instructions for another question, I just realized that you have a way to file an extension for the 990. I tried to do that but the program indicated that the extension form cannot be filed after the due date. I'm sorry, I didn't even realize that was an option based on my previous experience with the E Postcard.
