The Minnesota State High School League is a voluntary association of Minnesota High Schools whose governing board have delegated their control over extracurricular activities to the Minnesota State High School League. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a Member schools through regional representation can elect members of the MSHSL Board of Directors. The 22 member Board of Directors is responsible for the management of the affairs of the MSHSL. The MSHSL's constitution directs the Board of Directors to divide the state into regions and to have control of all Region and Section contests. The members of the Board of Directors are elected by the member schools of the local Regions, elected by the Executive Board of the respective Associations and 4 members are appointed by the Governor of Minnesota.
