Some of us are veterans ourselves. In the spirit of Service, Not Self, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad. For God and Country, we advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace and security. Participicated in Veterans' Day 2023 event with approximately 50 attendees who showed reverance to our departed veterans. A meal followed the event. Sent 2 girls to Tar Heel Girls State which builds character and teaches the democratic process at a cost of $800.00. Participated in the American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Poster Contest with local prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place totaling $100. There were thirty entries from the St. Pauls High School in four catagories Their posters were forwarded thru State to the National contest. Three of the students won in the National contest receiving an additional $50 dollars each with a equal amount donated in each student's to the Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship fund. We helped the St. Pauls Police Department with a $150.00 donation to provide drug prevention pamplets to the children of St. Pauls.
