This technology enhances the students ability to access Braille and learn.We supported blindness tips that are available to ALL online and through YouTube channels.PFBC funds recreation (arts and sports) programs that encourage blind/low vision children to become confident, independent, and well-rounded adults. These activities include music lessons, sculpture, photography, golf, goalball, powerlifting, skiing and tandem biking.PFBC provides adaptive equipment and low-vision devices that allow blind/low vision students to participate in their education process by communicating effectively and accessing information. This includes graduating seniors and current students pursuing higher education.PFBC is committed to supporting birth to five-year-old children (B-5) and their families in Washington state by making important connections between families and critical early intervention services. Provide funding for families to attend workshops and parent-infant play groups, handcrafted sensory quilts, and age-appropriate toys/books for babies and toddlers.The mobile low vision clinic is back to normal operation after a two-year hiatus due to COVID. A robust schedule was maintained in 2022 and 2023. Since the programs inception in 2018, we have held 23 low vision clinic days and provided vision evaluations for 159 students from around Washington state. These students have received thousands and thousands of dollars of low vision devices at no charge to their families. Many of the students would not have had access to these services and devices otherwise.
