Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 The board of directors approves the compensation amount for the CEO. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The organization made all policies and financial data available to the public upon request. The Veteran Womens Enterprise Center experienced a major increase in funding towards the end of 2020 during COVID. From 2020, through 2023 we had to engage more than 7 accountants due to these providers losing members of their family, employment, closing businesses and/or literally passing. Each instance took time to assess the situation as providers were not effectively communicating their situations. In 2022, we were forced to relocate, and we hired a new accountant that had been working with us to bring our accounts up to date. We were notified in May 2024 by our primary sponsor that our 501(c)3 status had been revoked. Unfortunately, our accountant was unable/willing to address our situation with the urgency necessary, and we had to engage another provider to bring our accounts up to date. We have now filed all our outstanding taxes, are setting up compliance accounting systems as well as developing standard filing procedures to ensure this situation does not happen again.
