The organization's home base of operations is Soccer City Aurora, a community facility featuring pick-up soccer, a lounge, turf fields, and stadium lights. Since opening Soccer City Aurora in June 2021, CSF has seen huge demand for soccer programming evidenced by the number of kids who sign up for a membership. Since opening in 2021, the organization has helped provide access to soccer to over 10,000 kids through a combination of 1) Pick-up play, 2) Soccer After School programming, and 3) a series of Community-informed programs such as camps, clinics, and youth leagues/tournaments. 1) Pick-up play: While CSF recognizes that structured athletics is a powerful tool for youth development, the organization also emphasizes pick-up soccer to allow kids the freedom to just have fun. "Let kids play on their own terms and they will" (Aspen Institute, Project Play, 2015). For a small fee ($10), youth can purchase memberships and receive three months of unlimited pickup play at Soccer City. 2) Soccer After School: Soccer After School (SAS) allows kids to play with their elementary school team for a full season of soccer practices and games. Sessions include two 60-minute practices at the students' school each week and 60-minute games on Saturdays at Soccer City. We hire and train teachers at the school to be their coaches and provide them with all the soccer gear they need, giving many kids the chance to play an organized sport for the first time. 3) Community-informed programs: As a complement to regular Pick-up play and Soccer After School programming, CSF offers a series of camps, clinics, drop-in sessions, and youth tournaments and leagues throughout the year. These programs were launched as a response to specific demand from kids and families. The programs are typically seasonal and can vary from year to year. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The Organization maintains a Conflict of Interest Policy that is monitored and overseen by the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. The Organization's leadership team works diligently to ensure there are no conflicts of interest in the organization's business and programming. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 The Organization works to secure salary survey information from a number of local and regional sources to make sure its compensation program is commensurate with its competitors. They review their compensation program annually and make adjustments as able to their salary levels and benefits programs. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The Organization will make its public forms available upon receipt of a properly executed written request for such forms, generally withing two weeks of the party making such a request. This includes the organizing documents, government documents and the conflict of interest policy. The Organization does not share its internal financial statements. Form 990, Part IX, Line 11g Contracted Coaches $51,666, Referees $7,997, and Interpretation Fees $37,767. The delay in preparing the IRS Form 990 was a result of a serious medical issue but has been resolved. Colorado Soccer Foundation has worked with an outsourced accountant specializing in the nonprofit business sector. Our accountant suffered a major illness that required brain surgery over the course of time involving the annual return but is now completely recovered. The goal of the Colorado Soccer Foundation is to build a future for our community and to always comply with governmental regulations both federally and locally. Colorado Soccer Foundation has been diligent in establishing best practices, to implement strong internal controls, and comply with filing requirements. A full independent audit was conducted for this fiscal year and the organization recognizes the critical need to adhere with filing requirements. Oversite of best practices has been established through the annual independent audit, management, and the board of directors.
