When applicable, the organization may be subject to an Unrelated Business Income Tax for income derived from any non-exempt activity. Unrelated Business Income is defined as the gross income derived from any trade or business regularly conducted and not substantially related to the organization's exempt purpose or function. During the curreent year, the ISD did not conduct any unrelated business activities. The ISD accounts for uncertain tax positions in accordance with the standards included in ASC Topic 740, Income Taxes. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the ISD and has concluded that as of during the current year there are no uncertain positions taken orexpected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the financial statements. The ISD believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements. The ISD is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. The only tax years subject to tax examination are for those years within the statutory limits. Purpose of meeting and utilization of funds must be indicated and verified for sponsorship of award to be granted. Meeting sponsor must report back to ISD and provide a Report on how funds were spent for speakers and scholarships and other expenses. Regional Meetings were for grants to support meeting held in various foreign countries in which funds were utilized to pay for travel for speakers to attend meeting in which speaker approval must be by the Regional Committee Meeting Committee. Mentorships - were funds awarded for young dermatologists 35 years old and below. These young Dermatologists/Residents will receive US $1000 per month from the ISD up to US $3000 for 3 full months with all coming from developing regions. The ISD Executive will approve their nominations after the endorsement of the Committee. Part I, Line 3f - Investments and Expenditures All expenditures were for Scholarships and Travel Grants for dermatologists from various countries to attend the various dermaologic meetings held throughout the year whether it be for the International Congress of Dermatology, Continental Congress or various regional meetings.Mentorship awards are to Promote the advancement and exchange of scientific and clinical dermatological information worldwide for the purpose of providing better patient care on every continent.
