A project concept is discussed and revised to develop a final project description, work plan and timeline. A contract is signed between the heads of the 2 organizations, which includes requirements, funding, reporting, among other standard items. There is a person in Coalition for Americas' Health (CLAS) that is responsible for maintaining an ongoing relationship with the subgrantee and ensuring that the project is implemented as agreed. CLAS is responsible for the proper use of funds to the donors that provide the funding to CLAS, which provides final narrative and financial reports of those projects carried out outside the USA. Conflicts of Interest are consistently monitored by CLAS and members. Donors and allies are attentive. When Conflicts of Interest have been observed in any member of our community, a small group is assigned to review and evaluate the best approach to address it.
