We proudly welcomed our first Artistic Director Lorraine Audeoud Spiegler whose internationally recognized leadership has already begun shaping a comprehensive vision for student development through rigorous training interdisciplinary exposure and innovative performance experiences. Alchemy dancers trained with a rotating roster of exceptional guest artists and faculty including Rinat Imaev and Xiomara Reyes who each brought extraordinary insight and inspiration to our advanced and pre-professional students. AIM also broadened its stylistic range by inviting renowned urban dance artist Carlos Garay Gonzlez to lead workshops that supported choreographic innovation and artistic versatility. Alchemy Ballets presence on the competition stage continued to grow with distinction. At the 2025 Youth America Grand Prix YAGP numerous students earned placements and scholarships affirming the high quality of our training. Most notably Alchemy Ballet was honored with the Outstanding School Award a testament to the excellence discipline and artistry cultivated in our studios. 91649 0 34292 PERFORMANCE: In its third fiscal year Artists in Motion AIM celebrated a year of ambitious artistic exploration and community engagement through its 2024-2025 performance season. The season opened with Primavera a bold spring showcase honoring the musical legacies of Roberta Flack and Charles Mingus featuring Mingus Moves-an original contemporary work co-choreographed by Luis Serrano and Carlos Garay Gonzlez merging jazz motifs with urban dance. This performance also featured original choreography by Luis Serrano including a contemporary work performed by Mauricio Stengel. This piece received high acclaim and was awarded Platinum in Contemporary at the Universal Ballet Competition UBC. And featured a moving tribute to Roberta Flack choreographed by George Mason University graduate Jessica Brown showcasing the expressive capabilities of Alchemys dancers in contemporary and lyrical forms. Next came Folklore & Fairytales a culturally rich performance that featured storytelling through traditional dance forms. A highlight was the electrifying Ukrainian folk dance Hopak Gopak choreographed by faculty member Pavlo Yevtushenko bringing explosive athleticism and cultural pride to the stage. In fall 2024 AIM presented Gala Americana a tribute to the late Phil Wiggins spotlighting live blues musicianship and a guest performance by acclaimed tap artist Bakari Wilder. The production highlighted AIMs continued embrace of American musical heritage and intergenerational artistry. The winter season showcased a Celtic Bluegrass Nutcracker Reimagined transforming the classic with live bagpipes Appalachian fiddling and clogging reaffirming AIMs boundary-pushing creativity. The season concluded with preparations for a full-scale production of Don Quixote presented at Capital One Hall solidifying AIMs growing reputation for world-class classical ballet alongside innovative programming. 14552 0 0 COMMUNITY OUTREACH: In the 2024-2025 season Artists in Motion AIM expanded its community outreach initiatives with a deepened focus on accessibility cultural enrichment and meaningful engagement with local and international communities. Financial Access & Support: AIM provided tuition assistance to underrepresented groups extended training scholarships to Fairfax County students with financial need and granted 50% scholarships to selected winners of the Guadalajara Ballet Competition. These efforts ensured that financial barriers did not prevent promising dancers from pursuing rigorous training at Alchemy Ballet. Community-Centered Performances & Education: With support from the ArtsFairfax Ticket Subsidy Grant AIM provided discounted tickets to area audiences including students seniors and families. This enabled broader community participation in our professionally staged performances which regularly highlighted local artists and diverse cultural contributions. Cultural Exchange & Artist Access: AIM continued to support international artists through travel assistance bringing fresh global perspectives to our studios and stages. Part III Line 1 | Explanation:| Artists in Motion Alchemy Ballet is a Fairfax County based 501 c3 nonprofit corporation formed to bring together exceptional local and international talent to co-create world-class cross-cultural and interdisciplinary performances that delight and inspire audiences. We strive to make extraordinary training and performances accessible to the communities we serve while building bridges across cultural barriers and spreading compassion through the arts. Goals To nurture and prepare young artists by exposing them to world-class dynamic arts professionals and instructors and facilitating performances classes and workshops. To enrich local communities through performance service and educational opportunities that seek to dismantle cultural barriers through unique collaborations and artistic excellence. To highlight promote and assist exceptional local and international artists by providing support in navigating international travel requirements such as like artist visas and immigration documentation. To serve as an incubator for artists in the emerging phase of their careers cultivating their artistry assisting with marketing and other skills and materials required to work professionally providing opportunities for cross-cultural and interdisciplinary collaborations with other artists. Among the methods we use to achieve these objectives we engage extraordinary talent including logistical and travel support services as well as benefits such as financial assistance to families in need and many other service in between to grow a uniquely inclusive and beneficial program for the region. Part VI Line 12 | Explanation:| The organizations conflict of interest policy requires interested persons including all officers and directors to proactively disclose the existence of any actual or potential conflict of interest together with all material facts to the board or committee considering the proposed transaction or arrangement. Following this disclosure the interested person must leave the board or committee meeting while the disinterested directors discuss and determine whether a conflict of interest exists. If the disinterested directors determine that an actual or potential conflict exists they then will consider whether the organization can with reasonable efforts secure a more advantageous transaction or arrangement. If a more advantageous transaction or arrangement is not possible under circumstances not producing a conflict of interest the board will then determine by a majority vote of the disinterested directors i.e. without the presence or participation of the interested director whether the proposed transaction or arrangement is fair reasonable and in the best interest. Annually the organizations board members and officers are provided a copy of the organizations Conflict of Interest Policy and each of them completes and signs a statement confirming that they have reviewed the policy and disclosed any interests that could give rise to conflicts.
