In 2024, 50 Deaf children were taught a language and given an opportunity for a way out of a life without hope. Classes were held for the parents so they could learn how to communicate with the Deaf children. The staff was very busy in 2024 because the ministry was moved from temporary facilities to a large facility just outside of town. Community classes are also taught giving schoolteachers, police people and other community personnel an opportunity to learn sign language. 14491 0 0 The ministry has a school bus, a 15 passenger van, a Honda CRV and a Nissan pickup. All these vehicles are used in the ministry. Most of the Deaf people we serve cannot afford public transportation. We provide that assistance in helping them get to the school and the many other activities during the week. 7454 0 0 There are several activities during the year when ministry provides food for our students, staff and families. These activities include conferences, federal holidays and Christmas. We did not receive any requests for financial statements or reports for 2024 We are a small organization working with the Deaf community in Guatemala. Because I have an accounting background, I try to do these tax forms each year. It is difficult to wear as many hats as I have to do for the ministry. Last year was particularly difficult because my wife lost her mother to cancer on March 24th and there was much to do to settle her affairs.
