Emphasis is given to innovative teaching and creative learning projects. A wide variety of teaching and demonstration equipment, campus presenters, performing art events, guest lecturers, consulting services, research, conference registrations, and other innovative projects have been supported through the Grants Program. maintains a collection of drawings, medallions, and books, as well as some Pre-Columbian art which was donated to the Foundation over 20 years ago. The Foundation uses the collection in the study of art appreciation. Part V, Line 4: Endowment funds are used to fund programs at Bismarck State College, including scholarships and grants. From time to time, certain donor-restricted endowment funds may have fair values less than the amount required to be maintained by donors or by law (underwater endowments). The Foundation has interpreted UPMIFA to permit spending from underwater endowments in accordance with prudent measures required under law. At June 30, 2025, funds with original gift values of $10,093, fair values of $8,293, and deficiencies of $1,800 were reported in net assets with donor restrictions. Part X, Line 2: The Foundation believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken affecting its annual filing requirements, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements.
