ASTAs mission is to inspire, engage and support science teachers in preparing STEM learners for success.ASTA Board of Directors consists of 12 regional directors and 6 officers that support teachers all across the state, all of whom are volunteers working with a part-time executive director (contracted consultant).ASTA provides professional learning workshops, conferences, summits and an annual symposium around the state for teachers of science. These professional learning opportunities provide teachers updated science content and pedagogical knowledge and skills to increase teacher efficacy and efficiency in their science classroom. Moreover, ASTA is a community of learners that supports teachers in preparing scientifically literate citizens. ASTA provided ambassador led PD workshops throught the state which focused on the AZ Science Standards.
