All applicants are screened and interviewed for the awards. The Live Your Dream award is given to women who are returning to school and are the sole support of their family. All scholarships are sent directly to the educational institutions. The program is managed by our Scholarship Committee. Scholarships, together with the criteria for each grant, is posted on our web site. Independent judges review the applications and rank applicants against the award criteria. Selections are made based on these rankings. We also partner with Skagit Valley College for the awarding of the vocational scholarships. Part III Line 2 Column (b) We provide awards based on the Soroptimist criteria, especially the Live Your Dream award. Applications are posted on our web site. We also partner with other Soroptimist clubs to reach as many applicants as possible. Awards are given to women who are the sole support of their families and are returning to school. The program is managed by our Awards committee. Part VI, Section B, Line 1 All members have equal voting rights and approve all financial expenditures. The Committees and Board review the grants prior to bringing them to the membership. No grants are given without the entire membership approving the donation. Part VI, Line 6 The organizations had 91 members who all had equal voting rights. Part VI, Line 7a All members vote to elect the officers and directors of the club. There are no stockholders. Part VI, Line 7b All decisions are voted on by the members. The Board and committees make recommendations to the members before a vote is taken. Part VI, Line 11a The Form 990 was presented and reviewed at the Club board meeting held in August 2025. Part VI, Line 12c There are no paid employees in the club. Members with a vested interest in any issue are asked to identify the issue and are not allowed to vote on any grants or matters that pertain to the issue. None were identified during this year. Part VI, Line 19 The governing documents conflict of interest policy and financial statements are maintained in the SIA office. They available upon request and can be made available during office hours. Either a board member of treasurer will make any requested documents available. No requests were received this year.
