The petition highlighted various shortcomings in the rule such as inaccurate equivalence values for renewable diesel and SAF misclassification of SAF and the omission of jet fuel as a transportation fuel under the RFS. Subsequently SABR submitted a petition for reconsideration to the EPA on the same issues. The organization secured its first project funding from the soybean checkoff program to educate stakeholders on the limitations of Indirect Land Use Change modeling expanding its outreach and impact. Furthermore in 2024 SABR enhanced its governance structure by adding two director seats to its board promoting diversity and expertise. The organization sponsored key industry events including the Fastmarkets conference where it had a prominent speaking role and the AFOA conference strengthening its visibility and influence within the sector. SABR actively engaged with soy farmers at the Commodity Classic hosting a hospitality suite and contributing a Lake of the Ozarks trip to the SoyPAC auction which garnered significant interest and support. By participating in various public forums and hearings such as those held by the EPA CARB and the House Ways and Means Committee SABR effectively advocated for its mission and represented its members interests. The organizations engagement extended to submitting press releases comments on rulemakings and providing testimony showcasing its thought leadership and commitment to advancing its objectives.
