The draft 990 is then made available to all board members ahead of the next scheduled board meeting, during which the Finance Committee provides an overview, answers questions, and advances a motion for its approval and submission. Form 990, Part IV, Line 19 ReCraft makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public during the fiscal year through GuideStar.org (earning the Platinum Seal of Transparency in the process). While at the low end of the comparable range, it was determined to peg the Executive Director's salary to the starting salary of a Greenville County Schools teacher, with the understanding that this figure will increase annually as the organization grows and matures. At the time of intended preparation -- the week of January 6-11, 2025 -- the 2024 Form 990 was not yet available e-file provider used (form990.org) by the organization. Due to staff changes and an usually busy spring programming season, the Executive Director did not allocate time again for preparation until June. Of note: ReCraft did previously file for the automatic extension, but we were not aware that the deadline for extension was the same as the filing deadline. We pledge to get this in much earlier next year, and we will switch e-file providers if this current service is not available sooner!
