Our recruitment process takes place from March to September each year. Therefore, at the beginning of the year, our Recruitment Team set goals to hire high-impacting candidates who have a purpose of serving underprivileged communities. We collaborated with university clubs and organized campus recruitment workshops to attract promising candidates to apply. Our Recruitment Team organized 02 Welcome Events for the accepted Fellows to welcome them to the educational movement of TFB. We expanded our program to TFBs fourth region, Rangpur, and recruited candidates for the Rangpur region for the first time. The first cohort of Fellows in Rangpur will start teaching in schools in January 2025. We will serve the most marginalized communities in Rangpur and provide the necessary support to bridge the education gap they face. In addition, we are pleased to share that we have received more than 10,000 registrations and have extended 160 offers to candidates to join our Fellowship in 2025 in the last two rounds from March 2025 to September 2025. Among the 160 offers, 81 Fellows joined the pre-service training in November 2025 and they will be placed in 2025 across four regions- Dhaka, Chattogram, Coxs Bazar, and Rangpur. In addition, we organized multiple matriculation events to engage and guide our candidates through the pre-service academy. The Recruitment Team also organized 'Agents of Change 3.0,' an idea competition open to university students, encouraging innovative solutions to address climate change, especially the flood situation in Bangladesh. Around 86 teams from well-known universities participated in the competition, presenting innovative ideas to a panel of esteemed professionals in the development sector who served as judges.Students Holistic Growth & Community Engagement: Our resilient Fellows are committed to providing quality education and ensuring academic proficiency, especially in numeracy and literacy. In March, our team collaborated with Fellows, Head Teachers, system teachers, and students from our partner school to organize a School Orientation Program to connect and establish a shared vision for achieving quality education for our students. Additionally, our team organized three (03) Head Teachers Engagement Programs (HTEP), bringing together Head Teachers from each region to discuss the impact of TFB Fellows in their classrooms and their perspectives on transforming the education system. 89% of our students passed their annual government school examinations in 2023. Due to long school closures and uncertain conditions, 73% students attended the Bangla, 71% students attended English, and 62% attended the Mathematic exams and passed the mid-year tests. Additionally, our students have demonstrated a growth of 1.06 years in Bangla, 0.87 years in English, and 1.07 years in Mathematics in the annual examination in 2023. Our Fellows do not only prioritize academic proficiency but also strive to develop socioemotional skills and competencies in their students. This includes cultivating a growth mindset, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, self-awareness, well-being, empathy, and citizenship. We create a safe and supportive learning environment for students, focusing on brain-based pedagogy. At TFB, we believe all children know they are inherently powerful and worthy of love, dignity, and belonging. Fellows across classrooms help children to adjust to school with a particular emphasis on socioemotional learning support through practices like meditation, storytelling, interactive group work, and peer-to-peer connection. Therefore, 84% of the students in our classrooms describe their teachers as encouraging and supportive. Our Fellows arranged Parent Champion Circles to allow parents to share their highlights and takeaways from the Parent Circles. In these sessions, our Fellows also discuss essential topics such as digital literacy, climate education, and girls' educationkey priorities that enable parents to support their children in excelling both academically and in other aspects of their lives.Alumni Impact Updates: After completing the Fellowship program, Alumni continue contributing to the education sector as education experts, social innovators, researchers, policy-makers, and entrepreneurs for the long- term, sustainable improvement of students. Our Alumni move into leadership positions at different levels of the education system to create long-term, meaningful change. To date, TFB has produced 290 Alumni, of which more than 200 are currently working in education and development, and other Alumni have chosen diverse paths aligned with our priorities, including decision-making roles in government services, school leadership, social innovation, entrepreneurship, and education in emergency. Currently, our Alumni Impact Team is focused on gaining insights into our Alumni's roles, mindsets, and career paths to provide them with tailored career coaching sessions and networking opportunities. Additionally, the team organized regular Alumni Circles, where Alumni gather to discuss various topics related to their professional development, challenges, and contributions to the broader educational movement.New Fundraising Growth & Partnerships: Over the past year, we have made significant efforts to strengthen and expand our partnerships, focusing on long-term sustainability. After dedicating 1.5 years to cultivating a relationship with the Hempel Foundation, we successfully secured $750,000 in funding, which will enable us to expand our footprint in the Rangpur region till 2028. This funding will allow us to deepen our impact in Rangpur, though we are still actively seeking a co-funder to further sustain and scale our efforts in the region over the coming years. In addition to the partnership with Hempel, we have also secured $25,000 for the second phase of our Climate Education & Leadership Fund, which focuses on environmental sustainability and climate action, empowering our Fellows and students to become leaders in addressing these urgent global challenges. We also secured $125,000 for the second year of our Let Girls Thrive initiative, a program designed to overcome gender-based barriers to education and create safe, gender-sensitive learning environments that support girls in reaching their full potential. Additionally, we received $35,000 in new funding from the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund, supported by the U.S. Embassy, to enhance our Future Self Learners initiative. This funding will engage both students and Fellows in AI-related projects, equipping them with essential skills for the future. We are also proud to have launched two crowdfunding campaigns in November 2023 and August 2024, which have helped us to inspire our partners and potential donors about our movement. We have also successfully renewed the partnership with our institutional donors, Anonymous Foundation and BRAC for the fiscal year. In parallel to these achievements, we have been working diligently to cultivate relationships with local corporations such as HSBC, Unilever, Banglalink, and Berger Paints. While we have made progress in building these connections, the recent political movements and the resulting economic instability in Bangladesh have reduced the willingness of local companies to commit to CSR funding at this time.
