The McLennan County Dispute Resolution Center provides facilities, training and education for dispute resolution methods such as mediation. During Fiscal Year 2024, 85 cases were mediated using 31 volunteer mediators in addition to our Executive Director who is a mediator. Scores of referrals were made and/or information given when mediation was not the appropriate, could not be scheduled by agreement of the parties, or the matter was outside our income limits. The DRC receives many inquiries from people looking for legal assistance, something that mediators and the DRC are unable to provide. We refer these callers to several other agencies and organizations. The DRC provides affordable, quality mediation in civil and family law cases to qualifying parties who might not otherwise be able to afford mediation.
