This workshop series teaches practical applications to give young performing artists, as well as budding entrepreneurs, a solid foundation as it pertains to working in the industry of entsertainment from a variety of roles and occupations. Form 990, Part IX, Line 11g Event Production Costs for the Artist Workshop by Brave New World Enterprises cost $60,852.73 and included the following: - organizing and administrating travel for workshop panelists - the creation of all contracts for each panelist and vendor - the travel costs for all out of state panelists (total of 10) - video and photography; Event venue costs where all workshops were held: The Marriott Seatac event room total of $10,753.64; Stipend payments for panelists: $6,500 and $589 for staging equipment rental This is our first 990 form. We attempted to E-File in May of 2023 using a self-filing service but were unfamiliar with a lot of the terminology .We requested assistance from H&R Block (which handles our for-profit business tax returns) and was informed that we COULD be assisted with the 990. We attempted to schedule over 4 separate meetings in the first and second quarter of 2023 and was informed repeatedly that each tax preparer we were scheduled with could assist and was experienced with nonprofits, only to be told upon arrival that they could not. We finally were connected with and took several meetings with Mr. Rolfe Godfrey in Tacoma, WA in October 2023 who informed us that he could assist us with our form but that he was backlogged and we would have to wait another 30-60 days. After multiple attempts to schedule, we consulted with several preparers but could not afford their initial fees without encumbering our program budget and were finally referred to efile.form990.org to finalize this process.
