Record maintenances (Questions 4a, 4b, 4c or 4d)The school does not maintain official records of racial composition of the student body, faculty or administrative staff due to the rate of change in the population of students and part-time employees. Keeping up with these statistics would be cost prohibitive for such a small school with limited administrative staff.2. Governmental Agency Financial Aid (Questions 6a and 6b)The school receives voucher payments from the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS) to assist with tuition payments for parents that qualify for financial assistance. During YE 24-25, there were 27 students enrolled at the school that received voucher assistance during the year from SCDSS. Voucher payments are paid directly to the school by DSS following submission of enrollment information. In addition, the school also received three other grants from DSS totaling $37,839 and one from the State Treasurers Office in the amount of $70,000. All four of these grants were used to pay salaries as permitted under the terms of the grant agreements. 3) Description of nondiscriminatory policy (Question 3)On the school's website home page, there is a link to the school's Parent Handbook. The handbook contains a section that describes the school's non-discrimination policy stating "Harmony School admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights and privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and financial assistance programs and athletic or other school-administered programs." Schedule E, Line 5 - Explanation of Organization Discrimination by Race Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The draft of the Form 990 is provided to all board members via PDF for review prior to filing. The draft is reviewed by the board members and any questions are directed to the CPA that prepares the Form 990. Following this review process, the board votes to accept the Form 990 for filing with the IRS. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c Annually, the board reviews the conflict of interest policy and also asks members to report any conflicts to the board throughout the year if they should arise. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15a Top management is the School Director. This position is hired by the Board of Directors. The current job description for this position does not permit the employee to serve on the board of directors and does not name the individual in this position as an officer of the organization. The compensation for this position is determined based on a survey of pay ranges for comparable positions at similar organizations. This individual will receive a performance evaluation annually conducted by the board of directors at which time the board will consider cost of living increases, performance and pay ranges for comparable positions.
