Barriers to Escape from Trafficking The paper looked at the staggering array of interconnected challenges faced by women who want to escape trafficking, such as widespread violence and physical abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, homelessness, and inability to access healthcare. The paper then examined whether those challenges are the same or similar for both trafficked women and those involved in commercial sex work and to provide some recommendations for policymakers and service providers. Our paper was published in the peer-reviewed journal Dignity: A Journal of Analysis of Exploitation and Violence in April 2024. A) A survey of pharmacy technicians focused on human trafficking trafficking issues unique to pharmacology, with an accompanying paper reporting on survey findings to equip pharmacy technicians in identifying and properly engaging with potential victims of trafficking; and B) A national survey of survivors on pregnancy and trafficking to better inform healthcare providers, policymakers, and community leaders about the nature and scope of pregnancy and related issues in human trafficking and pregnancy.
