<Desc>Insaan Group Foundation - In 2022 Insaan made catalytic investments in 1. Aakar Innovations, whose revolutionary technology has received a Government of India patent and aims to be a solution provider in menstrual hygiene, and other related products; and 2. Lal10, a wholesale platform for handicraft enterprises in India, driving a maker's revolution by digitizing small and medium rural manufacturers to take their sustainable products to global markets. Insaan is registered in India as Insaan Group Foundation, hence the administrative costs. Its operational impact is currently limited by foreign funds' transfer regulations in India, and the team's limited current capacity to invest in local fundraising there.</Desc>

<Desc>Supply Chain - Madagascar - During the year, the organization reviewed outstanding pledges. Following this review, a pledge determined to be uncollectible was written off. This adjustment ensures that the financial statements and Form 990 accurately reflect the resources available to support program services. Insaan made its first catalytic investment in Madagascar in 2021 by investing in the start-up Malakass which specializes in the transformation of cassava into high quality flour. Malakass' vision is aligned with the national "Made in Madagascar" strategy and targets a region vulnerable to famines. Insaan and its coinvestors support allow the company to put into operation its factory, structure its supply network, obtain essential certifications for export & implement commercial & communication actions that allow the brand to be widely distributed in Madagascar and creating a lasting impact.</Desc>

<FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt>Over the years, Insaan has explored crowdfunding in the US and globally, and it maintains a consistent engagement with the public through its social media presence which includes not only the promotion of its own activities, but the dissemination of thought pieces on high-impact philanthropy and evidence of its impact on-the-ground. However, because of the high cost of fund-raising from a broad base (i.e. high marketing costs which are generally not covered by donors), Insaan's strategy is to continue to engage with larger public institutions including foundations and philanthropists to raise larger long-term commitments. Governmental funding in international development is a limited option given a global emphasis on local funding and a very specific set of requirements which generally exclude intermediaries. Insaan's governance structure ensures that Insaan's work serves the interests of those benefiting from philanthropy (i.e. the end-users) as well as the public at large, including public foundations. For instance, its platform, Impact Footprint, is designed to showcase innovations of local solutions to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals for the benefit of all stakeholders. As an ecosystem innovation, Impact Footprint exists to accelerate the financing of philanthropic funding at scale to benefit the 3 billion people living in low-income communities. In addition, Insaan contributes thought leadership pieces and podcasts, engaging in discussions around innovations and impact in philanthropy, thereby amplifying its resonance in the public domain.</FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt>
