HOF also completed construction of the $6.5 million new Oakland Cemetery Visitor Center outside the Cemetery's main western gate in late 2024. 966756 Gardens and Horticulture - In 2024, HOF's gardens teams continued to expand how much of the Cemetery was under the Foundation's control through expanded work on the East Hill as well as increased activity restoring and maintaining private lots. With increased maintenance activity the Foundation actively maintains almost 18 acres of the Cemetery. 490990 94044 Programming and Education - With the expansion of illumine, Sunday in the Park, Capturing the Spirit of Oakland, and Dia de Muertos - the Foundation's signature special events had a strong year welcoming tens of thousands of visitors of all ages to the Cemetery.
