The EnerGeo Alliance monitors and educates members and organizes consistent industry positions on regulatory initiatives and policies affecting the energy geoscience industries to ensure continued access for energy exploration. The EnerGeo Alliance supports and fosters science and risk-based regulations consistent with existing practices proven to be environmentally responsible, effective, and operationally feasible. Communications & External Affairs: The EnerGeo Alliance elevates the visibility of its members and the energy geoscience industry through external public and stakeholder engagement and media outreach. This includes industry events and public forums, external media products and campaigns, news media engagement, and initiatives to improve the industry's public image. The EnerGeo Alliance also establishes strong cooperative relationships with relevant international and national trade associations and organizations to create alignment and enhance industry unity and effectiveness in advocacy and communications globally. Through member communications, the EnerGeo Alliance informs members of association activity, events, and industry issues. The Making Energy Possible campaign is managed under this program. Promoting the Health of the Industry: The EnerGeo Alliance facilitates continuous improvement and promotion of the industry's technological innovation, operations, and commitment to health, safety, security, and environment. The EnerGeo Alliance addresses issues that pose risks to the industry's regulatory and fiscal certainty and recommends best practices, statements of principles, and model contracts to promote environmental protection, safety, and efficiency. The EnerGeo Alliance tracks science with high impact potential and invests in scientific research to ensure critical knowledge gaps regarding the potential environmental effects of exploration activities are filled. The Alliance equips members with scientific information, regulatory compliance resources, and public advocacy materials. EnerGeo360 (EA360), exclusively available to members, is a results-driven advisory service. EnerGeo360 provides members with solutions that promote regulatory and energy access, credible science, consistent communications and public relations, and valuable research and data in furtherance of EnerGeo's mission. The Africa Engagement (the Stakeholder Mapping and Engagement campaign for South Africa) was launched in June 2023 to develop a deeper understanding of the stakeholder landscape in South Africa and to provide education and outreach tailored to relevant stakeholder groups. The first phase was completed in 2024 and the second phase kicked off Q2 2025. The company's primary business is one or more of the following: * Energy geoscience data acquisition contractor; * Energy geoscience data processing contractor; * Owner and supplier of multi-client energy geoscience data for license; * Energy geoscience service provider; or * Energy geoscience equipment supplier/manufacturer. 2. The company is: * Not owned by a government or a petroleum and natural gas exploration and production company (energy company); or * Owned by a government or an energy company and: - Receives at least 35% of its revenues (from energy geoscience products and services) from sources other than its owner(s) or other companies or government agencies affiliated with its owner(s), measured based on a "rolling" average for the last three 12-month periods that have been closed and reported; and - Maintains a viable, ongoing business providing energy geoscience goods and services outside its home country. Contributing: Any company that meets the Governing Member definition but declines participation as a Governing Member. Associate: Any company that: * Provides products and/or services to the energy geoscience or energy industry; or * Is an Academic Institution. Industry Partner: Non-energy geoscience companies, such as Exploration & Production (energy industry) and Alternative Energy companies, that support the mission and objectives of the Alliance. Professional Services: Any company that provides professional services to the energy geoscience or energy industry. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a The Board of Directors is the governing body of EnerGeo Alliance. Directors are elected by vote of membership. Please see the previous item for a full description of member classes. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b Voting members (Governing, Contributing and Associate) may vote on matters brought before the membership. Each member has one vote, and the following decisions require their approval: amendment of Articles of Incorporation, amendment of Bylaws, election of directors, approval of any member meeting minutes for adoption, and any other matter properly put to the membership as provided in the Bylaws. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b Outside accountants review the financial statements under the supervision of the President, Treasurer, and VP of Business Operations. Form 990 is prepared by a separate outside accounting firm and is reviewed and approved by the President and VP of Business Operations. A copy is provided to the Board of Directors before filing with the IRS. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 For the EnerGeo Alliance President, compensation decisions are supported by comparability data and are led by the Board Chairman and Vice Chairman. The Board approves as part of the annual budget approval process. EnerGeo Alliance follows a similar process to determine the compensation of other officers and key employees, but this process is led by the President. All changes in compensation of the President and key employees are approved by the Board as part of the annual budget approval process and documented in writing and archived. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19 Quarterly financial statements and governing documents are provided to the governing body and made available to the membership upon request. The Annual Review of Financial Statements is provided to all voting members' principal representative prior to the annual meeting held virtually. The Alliance does not make any of these available to the general public.
