Each day, animals are evaluated and stabilized before transfer to our Elgin rehabilitation center, where staff provide treatment until they are ready for release. We successfully rehabilitate about 60% of the wildlife brought to us, while also supporting the community through a hotline that fields more than 14,000 calls annually. In 2024, expenses increased as we strengthened our capacity to meet rising demand. We enhanced staff compensation to support retention, secured a year-round contract with our lead veterinarian to ensure consistent, high-quality medical oversight, and expanded fundraising efforts to sustain these improvements.
