During 2024, CAIR WA assisted approximately 144non-immigration clients. Additionally, we assisted over 88families with immigration help through our Afghan legal clinic for immigration-related services 426124 Community advocacy and education via know your rights presentations and virtual events are provided at no cost to the Muslim community throughout the state of Washington. By making sure the community members are educated on their rights as well as issues of Islamophobia, CAIR WA hopes to create an empowered network of Muslim families, youth, children, and elders who use their voices to combat anti-Muslim hate. During 2024, CAIR-WA conducted approximately 32informative live online and in-person events 187003 Communications and media work to ensure an accurate representation of Muslims in mainstream media that is both accurate and culturally sensitive. In 2024 we had 98 media mentions, up in both number and scope from previous years. We also have an internship program through which we mentored 10 predominately Muslim young people interested in pursuing careers in civil rights and advocacy. In 2024 we also held an advocacy day that involved over 60 community members from 21 legislative districts meeting with their representatives.
