General explanation attachment Form 990, Page 2,Part III, Line 4a) The Worker-driven Social Responsibility Network (WSRN) continued to support worker centers in the U.S. agricultural and construction industries, as well as the transnational #PayYourWorkers campaign to secure back pay and severance for workers laid off during the COVID pandemic. As part of our ongoing efforts to highlight the dangers of Corporate Social Responsibility programs and the threat that corporate self-governance poses to democratic institutions and worker power, WSRN staff co-authored a report published by Network member Corporate Accountability Lab titled Certified Exploitation: How Equitable Food Initiative and Fair Trade USA Fail to Protect Farmworkers in the Mexican Produce Industry. Our Worker-Powered Enforcement (WPE) project continued to support Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha (CTUL), the Minneapolis worker center, in its organizing campaigns for non-union construction workers and service workers. We also finalized a report for the Chinese Progressive Association, capturing lessons for organizers on building worker power through their co-enforcement model. In our Equitable Development work, we produced a series of short issue briefs on the root causes of the housing crises and a report entitled, Housing Justice Coalitions: A Look Under the Hood, that shares information gathered from seven housing coalitions and others on issues relative to coalition formation, maintenance, and success. The Dignity in Schools Campaign (DSC), a coalition with members across more than 20 states working to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline, held our in-person Biennial Membership Meeting, with around 130 members in Richmond, Virginia. The meeting featured cultural presentations, member-led peer-to-peer workshops, regional strategy conversations, planning sessions for our Annual Week of Action and stakeholder group breakouts for youth, parents and organizers. In our DSC-NY chapter, the coalition organized students, parents, teachers and community leaders to stop budget cuts in New York City public schools, protecting critical funding for restorative justice, social workers and mental health services.
