Our programs provide essential services such as community navigation, language support, job search, and individual support services to help newcomers adapt and thrive in a new environment. Through programs like our Circle of Support and individual support services, we connect individuals and families with employment, education, mental health and healthcare resources, while helping them build confidence and community belonging. In 2024 we served 30 new clients. Achievement 2: Cultural Preservation & Celebration: Preserving and promoting Ukrainian culture is central to our mission. UASMI organizes year-round community events, workshops, and holiday celebrations that bring together Ukrainians and the wider community. These activitiesranging from Easter egg decorating workshops to traditional Christmas music and art showcasesensure cultural continuity and educate the broader public about Ukraines rich heritage. By doing so, we foster cultural pride and cross-cultural understanding. Achievement 3: Advocacy & Community Voice: UASMI serves as a vital voice for Ukrainians in Michigan by advocating for refugee and immigrant rights, organizing solidarity events, and collaborating with local, state and national partners to address emerging community needs. Our public programs, including educational panels and advocacy and outreach events, reflect our mission to uplift the Ukrainian community and contribute to a more just, welcoming society. We ensure that the Ukrainian perspective is represented in broader civic and social conversations.
