This review took place in accordance with AAPSG's financial oversight policies to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with the organization's fiscal responsibilities. All officers acknowledged receipt of the documents, participated in the discussion of key financial highlights, and confirmed that the information presented accurately reflects the financial position and activities of the organization for the fiscal year. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 During the tax year, the African American Public Service Group (AAPSG) ensures transparency and accountability by making its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public. This is achieved through the presentation of an end-of-year financial report at the organization's general meeting, which is open to all members and invited guests. In addition, AAPSG's proposed annual budget for the upcoming fiscal year is presented, discussed, and formally voted on by the membership during this meeting. This process reflects the organization's commitment to open governance and the responsible stewardship of its resources. The African American Public Service Group (AAPSG) respectfully submits this statement as justification for the late filing of its Form 990 for the applicable tax year. AAPSG did not generate any income or receive membership dues during the tax year in question. As a result, the organization's leadership believed it was not required to file or was unaware of the obligation to file a return despite minimal or no financial activity. Additionally, due to limited administrative resources and a volunteer-based leadership team, the oversight was not immediately identified or corrected within the required filing timeframe. Upon recognizing the oversight, the organization took prompt action to compile the necessary financial information and file the required Form 990. We have since implemented improved internal procedures, including regular financial reviews and filing calendar reminders, to ensure timely compliance in the future. We respectfully request that this explanation be considered in support of a reasonable cause for the delay in filing.
