The Organization is classified as other than a private foundation. The Organization is subject to federal income taxes from rental activities not directly related to its tax-exempt purpose. Generally accepted accounting principles provide accounting and disclosure guidance about positions taken by an entity in its tax returns that might be uncertain. Management has considered its tax position and believes that all positions taken in its federal and state tax returns are more likely than not to be sustained upon examination. The Organization has evaluated its current tax positions and has concluded that as of June 30, 2023, the Organization does not have anysignificant uncertain tax positions for which a reserve would be necessary. The Organizations returns are subject to examination by federal and state taxing authorities, generally for three to four years, respectively, after they are filed. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 The Organization is a membership organization. It does not have stockholders. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b Copies of the 990 are provided to the Board of Directors at the first board meeting following the completion of the return. The Board of Directors review financial information on a monthly basis throughout the year based on compiled financial statements prepared by AgSafe staff. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The Organization regularly monitors their conflict of interest policy and enforces compliance with the policy. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15b The Finance Committee does an annual review of all employee compensation as part of the Organization's budget process. Those recommendations are made to the Board of Directors as a whole and subsequently, all compensation matters are approved by the entire Board of Directors. There is no compensation for members of the Board of Directors. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 18 The Organization's financial position is reviewed each February at the AgSafe annual meeting. The 990, along with all other organization information including board meeting minutes, are made available upon request and that availability is made known during the annual meeting. In addition, AgSafe members and stakeholders are regularly encouraged to reach out to the Board of Directors and President and CEO with any questions or concerns they may have about the state of the Organization.
