charity endeavors Scholarships to graduating seniors in three different ISDs in Wood County Awards were made to eleven student applications based on defined scored and non-descriminatory criteria This accomplishes promoting higher education among rural students This follows our purpose of educating for Brain Health 10250 Dolly Parton Imagination Library sponsorship for three zip codes in the Wood County area We register children under 6 years old to receive age appropriate books through the DPIL and pay a partial fee per book and the complete shipping cost to the Dollywood Foundation for all our registered children The Dollywood Foundation supplies the books and takes care of the distribution Reading supports early brain developement and encourages school readiness This project follows our pupose of supporting Brain Health and serves approximately 325 children 5334 BrainmindersBicycle Rodeo is a program to educate first and second graders in three different ISDs within Wood County about keeping their brains safe Second Graders are presented a Brainminders puppet show that gives brain safety awareness for many different childhood activities First graders receive a Bicycle Rodeo which gives them hands on safety instruction for riding their bikes in several different situations It includes interaction with representatives of local law enforcement Each first grader is given a certified fitted bike helmet This program follows our purpose of educating for Brain Health 3281 Pilot International Inc Dues to National Affiliate 3291 Texas District Pilot International Inc Dues to State affiliate 2003 Pick-Me-Ups for Caregivers given to 100 plus caregivers in the Wood County area to show encouragement and appreciation for what they do This program follows our pupose of Caring for Care Givers 3112 Providing a conference on dementia education and support resources to caregivers of those with the disease and persons wanting to know more about the different dementia diseases and its causes This program promotes both our Brainhealth and Caring for Care Givers purpose 832 Donations to Traumatic Brain Injury Camps for Adults that suffer from traumatic brain injuries This donation follows our purpose of supporting those with brain disorders 500 Donation to Project Lifesaver for Wood County This program provides tracking bracelets and tracking by the Wood County Sheriffs Department for persons with brain disorders that may tend to wander This follows our purpose for supporting those with brain disorders 500 Sponsoring and managing an Accredited Special Olympics meet in Quitman for athletes in the surrounding areas It includes providing volunteers to run all the events feeding all volunteers and athletes furnishing supplies and medals to run the events and giving each athlete a momento gift for the event Includes 150 athletes and 150 coaches aids and volunteers This promotes our purpose of supporting those with brain related disorders Donationton to Quitman Rotary club for thier sun eclipse glasses program They provided free sun eclipse glasses to the area school children to protect their eyes This follows our purpose of supporting other community charity endeavors 500 Working with youth in the Quitman High School by providing leadership training by members and offering experiences for them to be leaders as well as encouraging
