SAFE works to bring visibility and services to all victim populations, particularly under-served populations including elderly, disabled, LGBT and male victims who often are neglected or excluded by many service providers. Existing law requires services for all victims, but many service providers fail to serve all victims. In addition to direct services, SAFE works to educate and motivate other service providers to be more inclusive in their provision of services. Where SAFE cannot provide direct services, SAFE works to connect victims with other service providers. SAFE meets the facts and circumstances test for public support. 2020 is the first year for which the public support requirement applies to SAFE and SAFE has already achieved public support in excess of 25% with expectation of a continued rise in public support. Public support rose in 2021 to in excess of 29% and continued to to rise in 2022. To continue its increase in public support, SAFE has: -Hired a new Executive Director -Hired a new Associate Director -Researched and cultivated sources of corporate support -Researched and cultivated sources of foundation support -Researched and cultivated new individual donors -Upgraded its website to enhance outreach to donors -Upgraded its newsletter to enhance outreach to donors -Upgraded its social media presence to enhance outreach to donors -Upgraded and expanded its product and service offerings -Upgraded and expanded its Board of Advisors to benefit from additional fundraising networks -Upgraded its outreach to influencers who can increase public awareness of SAFE, including such successes as a recent recommendation of SAFE in the Dear Abby syndicated column SAFE is working to increase public awareness of SAFEs mission and programs by creating and disseminating reports, studies, articles and other educational materials. SAFEs telephone hotline is available to victims, advocates, educators and other service providers. SAFEs publications and materials are further disseminated by other organizations to multiply SAFEs reach. SAFE works with experts, media, service providers and the public to draw awareness and increased services to under-served victims for the benefit of the public.
