General explanation attachment Form 990, Page 2,Part III, Line 4a) The Worker-driven Social Responsibility Network (WSRN) continued to support the transnational #PayYourWorkers campaign to secure back pay and severance for workers laid off during the COVID pandemic. The Network continued to support victories for workers, including a new legally-binding, enforceable health and safety agreement for garment workers in Pakistan. Domestically, WSRN supported our partners, including those in the dairy and construction industries, and increased our communications reach to promote the WSR model and combat ineffective Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Our Worker-Powered Enforcement (WPE) project continued to support Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha (CTUL), the Minneapolis worker center, in its organizing campaigns for non-union construction workers and service workers. We also facilitated translocal exchanges to support worker-led policy model development and refinement, including bringing together a sub-group of domestic workers to discuss issues to domestic worker enforcement. In Baltimore, our Equitable Development program was part of a collaborative effort to successfully advocate against the citys attempts to reduce the priority that directs funding to Community Land Trusts (CLTs) through its Affordable Housing Trust Funds. We continued to advocate for the CLT movement, fight speculation which pushes housing prices beyond affordability, and support a burgeoning CLT and community organizing effort that crosses neighborhood, class and racial divides to push community-controlled housing for the homeless, renters and homeowners. The Dignity in Schools Campaign (DSC), a coalition with over 100 members in 28 states working to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline, held our 13th annual National Week of Action Against School Pushout from October 8 to 16, 2022 under the theme Building the Schools Our Communities Deserve Now, with events across 40 cities. We continued our Youth Participatory Action Research project on the factors pushing young people into the justice system and the solutions that youth are leading, and we supported our members strategizing around attacks on Critical Race Theory (CRT), racial equity and gender justice in education. DSC-NY advocated for our budget demands for FY2024 to secure long-term, base-line funding for restorative justice in schools. While we were not able to increase funding, we were able to protect restorative justice and other priorities against cuts. We also worked to support learning exchanges between schools that have practiced restorative justice for a long time and those who are newer to this work to help support restorative justice expansion and help shape the argument for more funding. After achieving many successes through our Healthcare Is a Human Right (HCHR) program, this year we closed down the program area and shifted our healthcare work to focus on maintaining relationships with partners, Vermont Workers Center and Put People First! PA, and continuing to lend technical assistance under the umbrella of our New Social Contract project.
